Alonso graduated from the EICTV (Cuban Film School) in 2013. He has been working in cinema for ten years in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Italy, Spain, and his native country, Costa Rica. He was a Guadalajara Talent back in 2014 and has been in charge of the postproduction of many short pieces, among them advertisements, music videos, and fictions,
plus three featured films, the latest of which had its premiere in the Sitges Festival in Cataluña (“THE PSYCHOPATH: Chronicles of Unsolved Crimes”). His oeuvre as film editor has been selected at festivals in Mar de Plata, la Habana, Viña del Mar, Berlin, Huelva, and the Leeds Film Festival. He is also a director and independent producer.
